In addition to the many excellent suggestions you've recieved, I would add black and brown boar from Wild Boar Farms. It is a smaller tomato, similar in shape and size to early girls. It is highly prolific, disease resistant and both an attactive and very tasty tomato. It isn't as bold or complex as Indian Stripe or Cherokee purple, but, you get a ton of really tasty fruit that starts early and keeps on producing late.

Black and Brown Boar is a favorite and I will always grow it. It's also one of the few I recommend to someone on the fence about fall tomatoes in S.E. and Central Texas.

I find that most tomato varieties start to lose flavor when they're just starting to ripen in the fall in early October and we've started to have a few nights in the mid-40's. I feel that refrigerating tomatoes destroys many of the flavor compounds in tomatoes, and after we've had a few cool nights, I don't really like even vine-ripened tomatoes anymore. But Black and Brown Boar, for whatever reason, seems to hang onto its flavor better than other varieties. If I could only grow one variety in the fall, BBB would be it.

I think I misread the topic, I thought it was "what black tomato will be the big trend next year?" more than a suggested grow list. On a suggested grow list, JD's Special C-Tex, Cherokee Sausage, Black and Brown Boar, and a few others.
