Clavate Tortoise Beetle
Here is my seasonal culprit. I don't know why they pick on my maters, because there are plenty of raspberres around.

Tortoise Beetles
They were a problem for me here in Massachusetts this year for a few weeks after I planted out. I just picked them off and threw them in a compost bin. I was pretty concerned, but I waited it out. Now I don't see them anymore. All told they didn't do that much damage. Same with the flea bettles.
Strangely I don't see the stink bugs that were around the past few years although one of my Costoluto Genovese tomatoes on the vine has the tell-tale signs of the type of damage they cause. |
