Default Tea Tree Oil for disease

Anyone use tea tree oil to spray their plants for disease? I sprayed one of my plants that had some kind of disease and it seemed to help. Interested in your experience using it.

Never used Tea Tree Oil like that. But there is evidence that would state that it could be used against disease resistance. Tea tree oil is a known antifungal agent. So it might be effective against some fungal diseases.

I use Neem Oil (vegetable oil pressed from the fruits and seeds of the Azadirachta indica. Formulations made of Neem oil also find wide usage as a bio-pesticide for organic farming, as it repels a wide variety of pests including the mealy bug, beet armyworm, aphids, the cabbage worm, thrips, whiteflies, mites, fungus gnats, beetles, moth larvae, mushroom flies, leafminers, caterpillars, locust, nematodes and the Japanese beetle. Neem oil is not known to be harmful to mammals, birds, earthworms or some beneficial insects such as butterflies, honeybees and ladybugs. It can be used as a household pesticide for ant, bedbug, cockroach, housefly, sand fly, snail, termite and mosquitoes both as repellent and larvicide (Puri 1999). Neem oil also controls black spot, powdery mildew, anthracnose and rust(fungus).
Hope this helps

Neem products have been observed to be anthelmintic, antifungal, antidiabetic, antibacterial, antiviral, contraceptive and sedative.
So I guess Neem is antifungal.
My plants never had a fungal disease so I really dont know how Neem works against fungal diseases first hand. I use a few different products to prevent any pests or diseases. Heres my list-

I also use Neem Oil but not all that often. I use all of these at different times so no pests or diseases get used to any one of them.

MJ

thanks for posting those products. I am going to look at them closely. I never had leaf disease until the last couple of years.

I am trying serenade and a copper spray now in the greenhouse.

Any type of copper spray will kill most leaf diseases.

I dont like messin with the serenade. The active ingredient is Bacillus subtilisstrain QST 713. This is a naturally occurring widespread bacterium that is found in soil, water, and air. It is used to control plant diseases and fungal pathogens. Based on available information, the bacterium appears to have no adverse effects on humans or the environment. However, additional data are needed to ensure that products containing this bacterium are safe for honey bees, wasps, fish, and aquatic invertebrates.

I dont like use anything that can kill bees.
L8 & good luck
