Default White Queen?

Does anyone grow this tomato? How is the taste--and does yours have the "blushed pink" base? It sounds interesting to me.

Yes, I've grown it and as for the larger so called whites I think it has the best taste and is the palest in color of all the many so called whites that I've grown.

There's misinformation out there that it was a Livingston variety, but it isn't, it was first offered in the 1941 Earl May catalog.

THe whites vary in color from ivory to a pale yellow to a deeper yellow and that depends on the specific variety, the degree of foliage cover and the amount of UV.

Not grown for any best tasting tomatoes, but white sauce on white pasta sure makes for an interesting dish.

Throw in some white Parmesan and whiite garlic and it would be perfect.

I am growing this one for the first time this year, just so I can make the white sauce.

I guess that you would also substitute a Pinot Griggio for the Chianti.
