Break O Day Tomato

Below is my Break O Day tomato...I thought it was an indeterminate...but this little devil is only about three feet tall...but extremely bushy. Anyone else familar with its growth habits?

This variety is in my book and I've grown it several times.

I can't ID with anyone who speaks of "tallness" as to plant habit but for me it certainly is indeterminate.

Fruits are about 8-12 oz in clusters of 3-4 and the RL foliage cover is moderate.

This variety was introduced in 1931 and I think it has great taste and production and is one I list when folks ask about blemish free red fruits for canning, etc. And it's darn good as a fresh tomato as well.

Thank you for your comments...I got the seed from Baker Creek...they did not note whether it was det. or indet. It is now starting to set fruit...and with its dense growth...I will have to be careful in harvesting. Can't wait to taste it...

Baker's was my seed source for Break O'Day too. Mine has set fruit in the last few days and I'm half expecting to have it turn out not to be Break O'Day (don't ask). Plant is strong and happy. I have high hopes since this is one I've wanted to try for a while. I'm trying to keep my hopes in check.

Would it make y'all feel more comfortable if I said the plant habit was a semi-indet or a compact indet? it would work foir me.

But fruit size and color and shape is not open to negotiation. LOL

My father grew it 35 years ago. Great tomato. I'm glad it continues.
