Maybe some chicken wire would do the trick, and just use a staple gun to attach it as you stretch it over the top. :wink:

One can buy dog runs with covers because some dogs can climb and are escape artists. 8) Ya got any extra chain link laying around? just kidding The chicken wire idea might work. Maybe go check out what they have at HD.

Well, There is now a lovely dog kennel surrounding the tomato containers - six feet high with two doors. It is now called The Tomato Fortress instead of my little tomato patch.

We are starting to get a few cherry tomatoes, and the others are beginning to set fruit. We have had a bit of cooler weather which is helping. Still, there won't be any gazpacho until the fall, if then.

I appreciate all the support -

Fantastic, I grew my tomatoes in our Dog Kennel the last two years, it wasn't big enough this year and needed to refurbish the soil. Someone last year called me the Tomato warden, and when was I going to parole some of them etc.

Our Kennel is 7.5x13', Our dogs don't use it so it became a way to keep our dogs out rather than in

He only eats heirlooms and prefers them meaty, not to juicy. He won't touch a green or a cherry other than Sungold(if he finds out its a hybrid, I'm done for). Blacks only from the S. of what was once the Soviet Union. Jaunne Flamme if cut longways and any large Orange/Yellow that only has a first and last name..other than that he's not too choosy

Something that works around here (if you don't mind the looks of the remedy) is putting up stakes or posts around your garden, running strings along the top, and attaching garbage bags to the line so that they flap in the wind. Only caveat is, if you have white tail deer in the area, do not use white kitchen garbage bags - - - it just gets them interested. If you are in a nice residential area, and your garden is visible from the street, it might not be appreciated, but other than that, if the sight doesn't bother you, it does seem to work fairly well.

A Solution for the night!

Add Sensor Lights.

If someone or something is stealing your tomatoes, the light will turn on. It might a good enough solution discourage person or animal.
