I would order seed but the shipping is $5. It is tempting me. If I ordered I would get valerian and mesh bags to make a big enough order. I don't really need more seed but I really like Eva Purple Ball.

Shipping is indeed a little steep if you just getting 1-2 varieties... PM me next week when the seeds arrive, I'll send you some seeds to try if you like.

Germination was about 100 percent, but I only kept 2 seedlings. I always hate to throw out extra's but I guess that is part of the process.
I did try the other parent (Brandywine OTV) last year, but the plant had problems, no fault of its own, and got no fruit. Maybe next year I will grow all three to compare. |

DaVinci I sent you mail. creister I keep all my seedlings even the little guys with the seed coat hats. I can't seem to throw anything away. In the spring I give them to neighbors. Most say they don't need any so sometimes I leave them on the step when they are gone. My sister said she'd take two last year and I gave her a dozen then she was pushing ripe tomatoes on her neighbors. I have tried Brandywine and have no idea what strain it was. It made huge wonderful tomatoes but it took all summer. Those big ones stay on the vine so long that the chances of a critter taking a bite are great. A smaller earlier one sounds ideal. I liked pretty pink Eva. An Eva makes a perfect sized snack for one person.
