Hi Meg,

I had to read up on Maxikaps. Styrofoam SWC won't support the spiral stakes. You could build stands for them with PVC pipe or EMT conduit around each SWC, but that would be a lot of effort.

You mentioned that you suspended tomato vines on string in the green house so you already have overhead supports.

I believe you can drill a small hole (5/64 in.) and add a small hanger loop to the top of each spiral stake. The hanger in the photo is a link from a small chain. Suspend the stake on a wire or chain from your overhead supports. The base of the stake can be suspended inside each growing cylinder of the Maxikap without touching the bottom so no downward force on the Styrofoam. No wind in the greenhouse means no lateral force on the stake or the SWC's.
