Just applying "artsyness" to excitement, my first seedlings popping up.
My seedlings for my "Wall-O-Water" trials.

Another "Artsy Mater" photo.
I know, I'm both tomato and photography obsessed.

Al ? What sort of camera do you use? Close up pics of tomatoes are really cool, as you get to see all the tiny hairs/roots along the stem. The quality of the stem is how I judge the health of the plant.

Whoa....if you'll take one digit off that $899 price, you'll be in my price range ! I'm using a little Fuji Finepix that I got from ChinaMart. I haven't really tried any closeups with it. I think I'll try my hand at a few and see what kind of adjustments it is able to make. It's kinda obvious, you're a photo pro.

Nice looking seedlings, and very good selection of DOF for the subject! Pentax does make some very fine lenses, and I've used K100D for few years for macro photography with DF-A 100mm f2.8
VAgardner - the good news, whoever on amazon asking such price for this camera, must have eaten some very rotten tomatoes. Even at the time of it's release in 2007, it was under $500. Excellent sensor, with wonderful colors even on the kit lens (which is simply the best kit lens from any DSLR on the market). Regards, D |

vagardener434 if you look on your point and shoot for a symbol on your pre-sets that looks like a symbol of a flower that is meant for close-up type shots. I'm not sure if that helps but give it a shot. Thanks for the compliment as well.

Ok, I don't wanna mess up your thread, but here is my attempt at photography. Its a closeup of my Diva cukes. Go ahead and tell me I'm just not Pentax material. It won't hurt my one last feeling !

I think your picture is gosh darnoodley good Bobby. The main difference is not the camera or your photographic skills but that I use photo editing software to edit my picture. Your starting photo is the same quality as mine or better, I just mess around and crop and sharpen and put on borders and on and on. Just took a second look and it really is well done, Bravo!

Thank you sir. I took some pics of other things, but this was what I considered my best one. I'll keep this aspect of photos in mind when I see something worth sharing. The clarity of a closeup is quite enjoyable.
BTW..what the heck is " gosh darnoodley" ? Bobby |

Well, that term was apparently an edit by site administrators. Pretty d@#$ good becomes "gosh darnoodley good". I'll have to watch my vernacular.
