Well, I finally decided on my 10 gallon pot driveway indeterminates....
I bought the potting mix, bleached and scrubbed and filled the pots, and planted the following in my driveway today - I beat last year by nearly a month, hoping to beat the heat!
Where it is relevant, vial numbers are included Mexico Midget Bisignano #2 Cherokee Green (97-10) Big Beef F1 Cherokee Purple Heart (from Tomatopalooza attendee Rock Angier) Russian Queen (from Neil Lockhart) Brandywine (95-71) Lucky Cross (02-59) Yellow Prue (from Tom G) Sungold F1 Prue Cherokee Purple (01-3) Mullens Mortgage Lifter (95-85) Cherokee Chocolate (96-3) Lucky Cross (02-55) Stump of the World Surprise (97-14) (this is the really weird yellow leaf, white unripe fruit Honor Bright type plant with PL foliage that came from Turkey Chomp) Indian Stripe Cherokee Chocolate (96-9) Lucky Cross (02-62) Little Lucky (03-26) Lucky Cross (02-57) One large pot remains for Henderson Bicolor (still too small to plant). (from Neil L) So, 23 large pots This list represents several themes - the plants that resulted from my germination test of old seed, some old favorites, and a few new varieties/mysteries from other seed savers. I need to find room somewhere for the following: Halladay's Mortage Lifter (still tiny) - (95-70) Brandywine F2 from the Tad cross, 2 RL and 2 PL (03-29) - still looking to see what else pops out of this (Lucky Cross and Little Lucky came from this) Surprise (98-47) Mystery White Cherry (from a Catherine Simms plant from Darrel years ago) German Johnson (potato leaf, from a Tomatopalooza fruit) Green Giant Lillian's Yellow Heirloom Little Lucky (latest generation) Lucky Cross (latest generation) Nepal Little Lucky (02-54) Brandywine (01-25) Brandywine (94-2) Brandywine (01-5) Brandywine (01-11) Cherokee Chocolate (01-19) Cherokee Purple (93-2) Cherokee Purple (94-108) (another 21 plants) Maybe variegated Green Zebra cherry (if it is indeed variegated - from Carolyn) Maybe Cherokee Purple, red fruit (potato leaf) - seed from Carolyn Maybe Reinhard's Green, Brown, Purple, Pink and Yellow hearts (another 7 plants). All told, 51 or so Indeterminates if all goes well......
