I haven't tried them and don't know if this is the same but I got a box for Easter for the grandkids with something called the Wonder Egg. (solanum melongena) It says it is related to the eggplant but didn't say if it was edible. Grows three feet and can produce for 2 to 3 years.

I had planned on looking it up but forgot till I seen your question. I guess I'll do that now before I forget again.

I guess what I have is different and shouldn't be eaten.
Also when returning to thread I see that you were asking about a egg shaped zucchini and mine is related to eggplant.
