Default Semi off topic question for Dr. Carolyn.....

Carolyn, I know your trial tomatoes are being grown by Craig, however, can you tell me which tomatos you will be growing in your yard for your personal "good eats" this year?

Inquiring minds want to know..........LOL!

Thanks so much for your answer!

Craig grows my plants for me and ships them up here. I already posted my growout list in that thread here, but will link you to Craig's 2011 germination list and if you go to the very bottom you'll see the varieties I hope to grow this year.

And not just for personal use, rather, seed to possibly SSE list, seed to possibly list in my next seed offer here and of course some fruits for me and my local friends as well. The last two seasons have been horrible here, last year almost half of my plants had no fruits, so fingers crossed for this season. I don't like to offer seeds unless I've had an opportunity to have Freda check out the plant habit and leaf form and msot importantly, for me to taste the fruits.

There are two other folks in NC who are doing seed production for me and one in IL, and there's a couple of ones that Craig couldn't get good plants from but one of the others helping me I think is able to, so that's good.

If Freda is here, she's my helper, when fruits are ripe, I can set up some fermentations but I can't do it alone with this walker b'c I need two hands to do that.

Here's Craig's germinatikon 2011 list:

Again, my varieties are at the very bottom and have my name on them. When sending the seeds I didn't always write the complete variety names which is why you see an occasional____________________ for part of a variety name.

Thank you so much for your response, Carolyn. I didn't realize that the plants were shipped back to you! I thought you just got the seeds back and grew your favorite plants only for your personal use.

I've been away from this forum for a few years. That last I heard your health had taken a turn for the worse. I'm very glad to hear that you are getting along so well!

I think growing tomatoes keeps you young (that and dark chocolate)!

Have a great night!
