Default Mater plant progress

Well folks it looks like my first plants to be planted out this year will be Marglobe,Gigantisque,Hoy,Grandpa Willie. They are just about ready now but we have about 2 weeks or so before we can safely set out our plants. We shall see around mid month how things are going . Maybe mother nature will be kind and let us plant around the 15th.

Kevin

Edit to add Lincoln Adam , Mortgage Lifter Estlers strain and maybe Gary O'Sena.

I feel yea as I am having that issue now. All the garden areas are flooded and or a mud hole currently and our frost free date is May first though usually we can get by planting April 15th or so. My poor seedlings are still waiting to be put in the ground.

I normally try to plant out around Mothers Day, but these past few years have been so cold and wet, I'm hopeful the weekend of the 15th will be warn enough. I have a feeling our weather is going to go from the 50's & 60's straight to the 80's like it has in past years.

putting out the early, Canadian dwarf...determinate stuff first, of which I have covers and for the fact that we know by experiment that they will survive even a freak snow.....but we seriously need 50F soil and here I am not there yet...

Well folks I am going to see about starting the digging over the weekend. The last time I felt good about planting this early was 2007 in Bryan OH. Had my plants out two weeks early and came out with a good crop of maters and peppers.

Did a head count of my plants on the back porch.75 in all.Still got some in the house.Should reach my goal of 100 plants but looks like I will have some extras. Did that intentionally. Considering possible rabbit damage I thought it the wise thing to do.Any leftovers I will put them on Freecycle to see if anyone needs some mater plants.

Aside from that we have a rain delay.Just as I was finishing one bed today it started rumbling and raining.Looks like I will be rained out Sunday.Btw Hoy is among the ones to be first out. They are doing well and I am really looking forward to trying them. I am really jazzed about this years selection.
