tomato suckers
As I understand it, the suckers will produce basically a clone of the parent plant. I assume this would be true for hybrid varieties also. Is this the case?

Yes - root a sucker, you get the same plant that it came from - doesn't matter if it is OP or hybrid. Good way to share plants if your extra seedlings are gone!
