Got about five maters and ten peppers out today before it got to hot for me.Started working on the next bed.hope to have most everything out in a week.

I know what you mean about "at last".

My weather on the other side of the lake has been horrible this "spring" too. We actually had scattered frost 2 mornings last week and then 2 days later jumped right to mid to upper 80s.

The roller-coaster temps have been hard on the body and the plants. We have our plant racks out in the driveway as a self-serve sales stand most springs. But this year they have been in the truck more than they have been in the driveway. The weather has been too harsh.

Even yesterday, while it was in the upper 80s, we put the plants away before 2 pm. There were storms threatening that missed us, but the winds were awful. It was really beating up the plants.

Those same storms did go severe when they crossed the lake. I hope they stayed away from your babies. I know you have had more than your share of problems this year and don't need more. Same for me. I hope to get some things planted today and tomorrow.

I just need to finish up with a few more basil plants this moring. I finally finished up with the tomatoes yesterday even though NWS was calling for 50% severe storms. The earlier reports were calling for hail AGAIN! However, nothing happened all day besides the constant heavy winds.

The tomato plants I put in the day before got beat up with the high winds. I see a few snapped branches but it looks like all the main stems are okay.

This weather has really been something else this year. Wife and I were talking last night wondering on what kind of summer this will be.

I'm sure it has happened before but I cannot remember such a year when you have to click the heat on because it is 39 degrees outside and then two days later it's 90. Then a few days after that it is back in the 40's for a couple of days and so on and so forth.

I love a good rain storm too but I could hold off a week on another one of those too.

I have not had that problem yet!

I did get about 40 tomato plants out in my front clay garden a couple of days ago before another bout of rain came. Yesterday was impossible -- squalls about every 20 minutes, didn't last that long, just enough to get me out of the garden. I still have about the same amount of plants to put into the back garden, but I have not completed the weeding there yet or bed prep with manure. The soil is very sandy in back, so I can keep working even if it is wet. Our warmest temps have been in the high 60's and low 70's F, never got the 80's that Minnesotan's further south did. Peppers will have to wait until all the tomatoes are in.

Better get off the internet and get outside - sun is shining and wind is blowing and time's a wastin' !

My tomatoes are hanging on, but the winds have done a number on my peppers, I've lost at least a third of the plants, snapped right off at the soil line. I'm afraid to go through and check varieties. If I lost all the plants of anything I'm going to kick myself for putting them out without the isolation cages which would have protected them a bit.

The sudden change in weather caught me off guard, half of my tomatoes were severely wilted and needed water yesterday evening even though I'd watered in the morning. I'm hoping the topsoil for the new raised beds can be delivered today, I've been waiting for it to dry out enough for two weeks...

Well I pretty much got a second bed done today but decided not to plant as it got to windy. So more planting Thursday and the start of another bed .Really crossing my fingers everything gets out by Sunday.Or at least all beds dug up.Holding out a little getting my smaller punkins started.Got my giants in peat pots but will need to get them out soon.

Worried about getting everything planted but managed to get it done in the last three days. Whew! I'm tired and ache all over. Weed and plant in between showers and the heat. Leaving for Colo. in the morning so had to get it done. Now I get to worry about them while were away. Spring has not been kind!
