One dozen sungolds!
Yeah, yeah, you southern gardeners are way ahead. This is my first harvest of more than 2 at a time. One dozen sounds more voluminous than 12 or even 2 handfuls. Got a little bit of a late start this year too. Henry (kitty) really likes the smell of celery. He's always sniffing it in the garden and hangs out in that bed. 4 kinds of beans amounted to 1 lb 5 oz.

A real work of art...and Henry's quite the handsome dude. Isn't it great being able to eat so much out of the garden now?

You're ahead of me on the beans! I only have bean blossoms.
Very nice pictures, and I love your cat!

Kath-thanks, we think he's handsome. I'm so happy to be finally eating from my garden. We ate the eggplant, sugar snap peas, and some of the beans last night.
Sherry- LOL! Good point! Dee- I guess there's always someone somewhere waiting on their veggies. Your beans will be there soon! DiggingDog-that's a great compliment coming from a dog. Henry is in fact a great mouser. Now to be fair I have to post some pics of my other kitties. First there's Clarence. He is the real garden cat. Here he is guarding my tomato seedlings on the back patio while they were hardening. Gotta keep those deer away! ClarenceTomatoPlants_DSC6061.jpg He's actually a sweet boy. Clarence_D2X3828.jpg Then there's my third kitty, who only gets fed by us. He's stray or feral. He won't come close enough to be touched. He loves hanging out with my boys. Stray kitties need friends too. We call him Graymer. GrayKitty_DSC6495.jpg |

Thanks for posting your kitty pics- it's great that all the boys get along so well! Clarence appears to be taking his job very seriously and I think Graymer is a bit misunderstood...maybe he's just extremely shy.

you're picking peas? i pulled my plants over a week ago due to heat. your peas look like mine did 18 days ago - nice and green. the last were not so green and smooth, same variety you are growing. you must be down my the sound and the temps are a little cooler?
henry looks like a cool cat. nice picture of the bowl of veggies. tom

Graymer followed Clarence home one day over a year ago and he's been coming around since. I've tried to convince him that I'm not so bad. Treats, food, his own cat bed, but he remains unconvinced. I asked H & C to put in a good word for me. It's pretty cute how he now follows Henry around. They go across the way to the neighbors house and stake out the mice over there together. We would love it if he decided to come inside some day. I've spent lots of time worrying about him over the last year. |

Oh and I'm over in Danbury. I do have a lot of mature trees that tend to keep things cool, I think. |
