Default Tomatoes for tropical humidity??

Can anyone recommend any tomato varieties that would stand up to tropical humidity type conditions. (Australia)

Apparently some cherry types are supposed to be OK, but my friend had tried several, without success.

We have a few varieties that might fit the bill here in the U.S., but I believe that Australia forbids the importation of seeds without certain licenses.

I have never grown these so I am not sure how they perform, but a few that have impressive disease packages are:
Defiant
Kewalo
Bella Rosa
Sophya

I searched for Australian websites that sell tomatoes and there didn't seem to be much of a selection.

In the U.S. the agriculture departments of several universities have tomato breeding programs that develop tomatoes that are resistant to the diseases and temperatures in their respective regions. Do Australian universities have similar programs?

Thank you for the info on the varieties you found. I doubt we have anything being developed by our Universities and thought I may have had something here that would do the job. Maybe a grow out of a few varieties may work as I'm not sure much research has gone into varieties for the hotter parts of the country here.

If you can get Big Beef I would certainly give it a try. I have had the best luck with it during the hottest and most humid times down here in the deep south. Others that have fared well are:

Indian Stripe
JDs Special C Tex
Black Krim
Spudakee

It is certainly as hot and humid as it gets down in South Louisiana right now. Thanks to the tip on Big Beef, I noticed them as a new addition in the local nursery so I grabbed a couple to give them a try.

Note - I also see Florida 91 out there. Don't know anything about it, but I have to assume it was selected for heat and humidity.

Second note - Just ran across this thread. http://www.tomatoville.com/showthrea...hlight=florida
