Tomato Soil
Hi,
My tomatoes have suffered the effects of a chemical called Aminopyralid and now DowAgro is replacing my soil (yip-yip-yahoo!) and I can pick anything I want to put in so I figured I would start with ProMix as a based and then add some Black-Kow composted cow manure at a ratio of 1/3 by weight to the ProMix base and then 1lb of Garden Tone for every 3 cubic feet of soil. Unfortunately they don't see Black Kow in MD. Does anyone know of a good alternative I can get in MD? Thanks, Greg |

See if you can get mushroom compost. It has better texture and doesn't pack as badly. I think it is similar in fertilizer content. Some large nurseries will sell it by the front end loader scoop.

i like the texture of mushroom compost, too, and its fertilizer content is 0.5-0.5-0.2.
