Still looking for my lost post. Can politics
have anything to do with it when others are free with their signature?!..JJ61 |

Folks,
in truth this is not what I want. Anger and dribbling over politics. This is a tomato centric website and I'm happy for it, but if everyone should post a political Avatar and inflamming and baiting signatures, this site will denigrate just as many of the others have. Yes, I have my views and they are strong, but I would much rather know you as a person who loves tomatos(oes)!!! A lush tomato forrest is a much nicer place than a political jungle is to enjoy one another and our craft....JJ61 |

jerseyjohn,
I removed your post, and was planning on sending you a PM letting you know why before I retired tonight. It was certainly not necessary for you to post three times to the same thread in one evening in an attempt to incite a response. In short, we have been trying to give folks a little freedom of expression with avatars and sigs (within reason). Thus far, it has not been a problem, and I guess I'm not sure why you suddenly decided to make an issue of it this evening (the person you addressed has had the avatar/sig for some time now). I'd also like to add that if you have a problem with a particular post or poster, please PM one of the moderation team. That really is the best way to deal with it. If you wish to discuss the matter further, please feel free to PM me. Suze |

Suze, I'm sorry this isn't going private but I don't see inciting, I see john asking why his post was removed. He got tired of the denigrating political quote. I agree, it doesn't belong here. THIS is where it leads.
and I see the eyerolling above this as an unnecessary retort--

I agree politics don't belong here in posts. I think people should be able to display a bit about themselves though and if that involves a quote in a signature or an American Flag as an avatar then so be it. ( an American Flag as an avatar by the way is very political in nature ) It is unfortunate but the state of the world as it is pretty much means most things political spiral out of control pretty quickly. Which ultimately leads to the Mod's having to decide where to draw the line and I am very sure they will figure it out. In the mean time we should all just try and accept that people have different view points and different ways of displaying said view. I have no problem if someone puts a quote in their Signature or someone else puts an american flag as their avatar as long as they dont actually start posting about it. It is one thing to display a bit about yourself but it is another to start actually posting in threads about your political beliefs.
