Removing Chloramine from drip system
Hi all,
I've decided to try and cut out all chemical fertilizers this year and go with all organic methods. Pratly due to the benefits I'm reading about partnering with beneficial bacteria and microorganisms. Unfortunately I have a water disctrict that adds chloramine to my water. I bought one of these RV carbon filters http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0010EEVR8 and put it between my backyard water spout and my hose, and it's been fine for right now when I'm hand watering my seedlings. However once these puppies go in the ground they will be watered by my drip system. I do notice a little pressure drop in my hose, so I'm wondering if it will cause problems when I connect it to my drip system. Anyone else out there on a drip system that has chloramine in the tap water? Other solutions? |

It shouldn't be a problem since most drip systems include an inline pressure reducer which lowers pressure to about 25# on the system. I would think your municipal pressure is around 60#. It should work fine with the filter installed.
