My 2012 Garden
All these goodies started from seed except for the strawberries. I'll delete the post under the instructions on how to now that it worked once, I should be able to do it again. Just not a techie here, lol! It's not nearly as big as most I've seen here but it's just adequate for my needs. Last year's garden was deeper, but not as wide and I had a problem negotiating between the rows so decided to try this method instead.

Tomato varieties are beefsteak, better boy, brandywine red, elbe yellow, Dr. Wynch yellow/gold, Missouri Pink. I have snap peas and snow peas, mesclun, romaine and leaf lettuces, red, yellow and tobasco peppers, basil, and a few flowers to attract the butterflies and bees. I planted broccoli rabe just for their yellow flowers! I am so looking forward to seeing some fruit soon!
This is my first year growing from seed and the first time I will have tomatoes that aren't red in my garden. I'm grateful that Dutch sent me off some seeds! Thanks, Dutch!! edited to add.... eggplants there as well, just seem stagnant, very little growth Last edited by pattiann; May 19, 2012 at 02:46 PM. Reason: forgot about the eggplant! |

thanks, Jane!!
If I had more energy, I would love to keep a hive. My son says his friends won't come and visit if they knew there were bees here though, lol! Honeybees ordinarily are pretty mild mannered! |

I love it when someone takes an artistic approach to gardening. My garden is very practical with raised beds laid out in straight lines with little thought to the potential artistic values. My garden art only consists of everything reaching for the sky. Ted
