Thrips - do they have green upper bodies?
Do thrips have green upper bodies? I saw a narrow insect with a shiny green upper body and striped lower thorax this morning. Haven't seen that before. Is it a thrip? None of the online pics of thrips I've seen have a green upper body. I will try to take a pic of it if I can find it again.

Thrips are very tiny. I'm not sure I could tell what was on their bodies. I'm assuming what you saw was a bit bigger than them. Hope you can get pic. Which are the stripes running? like a bee or the other way?

Yes, it is probably 1/2-inch long so, while it is small, I wouldn't call it tiny. Stripes are left to right more like a bee. I didn't see it again. I'll for sure keep my eye out to get a pic.
