Default Updated Photos of my Container Garden

Had a bit of tough luck this year. Had some sick plants early on and then my uncle accidentally sprayed 2-4D on my seedlings in the greenhouse (sucked in through the vents) so it has been rough, but after clipping them back they've managed to come on and, although I'll likely have a later crop, things are looking better.

So, without further delay:

This is a Black Krim. It's unusual as it appears two seeds grew together and one is potato leafed while the other is regular. Regular leaf is much more adept at setting fruit in this case.

This is a Better Bush. I'm having tremendous luck with Better Bush in containers. Plants seem to be doing well and are LOADED with fruit.

Better Bush again.

Following three varieties are my three that survived the 2-4D destruction. They are Big Rainbow, Cherokee Purple and Costoluto Genovese. There is another Big Rainbow not pictured because it looks like death warmed over.

I've also got Homestead, Early Girl and Husky Cherry Red going in some other containers. Apartment living is not the best for gardening but I think it's working out okay.

Sorry to hear about what a difficult time you had getting your garden started but your persistence has really paid off. The plants look great now! It reminds me of when I first started to garden and lived in an apartment with a sunny balcony and stairway. Enjoy your harvest!

I got some Big Rainbow seeds this spring in a swap. It's too late to plant any this year, but I'm wondering how you like it. Have you grown it before?

FYI - I planted out my first tomatoes yesterday. Guess that's the price I pay for not having to deal with 2 months straight of 100+ degree weather. Hope Texas gets more rain this year.

Haven't grown it before. As this is my first experience and they were damaged by the 2-4D, I cannot make an honest assessment. One of the two is really coming out of it so we'll see how it does.

Baizanator,
Everything is looking pretty good in your garden considering that your plants got a taste of 2,4D. The plants that got the worse of the 2,4D are looking like they will be ok. Your very fortunate that you were able to save them. My neighbor a couple of years ago lost dozens of tomato plants because of 2,4D. He wasn't able to save any of his plants. Good job. Your Black Krim is kind of strange looking, but sure looks healthy, as does your Better Bush. Looks as though you'll be eating some fresh tomatoes soon from the Better Bush. Good luck and hope you don't have any more surprises like the 2,4D incident.

Thank you. Yes, the Black Krim is pretty strange. I've been told that it has a spot mutation as one of the two main branches splitting off the main stem is potato leaved. As a result, I've had several seed requests for that one ha ha.

your plants are looking good! What a wild story about the Black Krim. I'd be curious to see if either side tastes different from the other
