Default Sweetie, would you grow it?

Sweetie: 63 days. Indeterminate plants. Large, 1 pound plus, pink beefsteak type that continues to be the earliest pink beefsteak.(from Sandhill).

Has anybody ever grown this before? Well, it sounds nice but how does it taste? Input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Default Wrong Sweetie

Polar_lace,

Unless the Sandhill description is completely wrong, these are not the same "Sweetie". Does anybody have any experience with 1lb pink sweetie not the c herry looking variety?

Default Is the taste good?

I guess what I was looking for was a rating of 1-10(based on Bw Sudith as 9 or 10). So how does sweetie taste?

Default a Garbage tomato?

Well if it is a6 on anybodyies grow list than it probably is a trash tomato. I want a good early ripening beefsteak but no garbage fr favor. Now I am growing gregori's altai for the fall. So far the plants have not been so vigorous.
Good luck every body.

Its not great but its ok. Although not in my top 10 it is pretty nice with production and was great for Salsa....So much better than the store in that aspect. FYI, I would rate a store tomato at a 2....Hey you are in Riverside? Thats where we left in January. We were right off the freeway at Magnolia....We managed a residential property there....

I grew Sweetie last southern summer and it was a cherry (described as cherry type) and it did OK.
