I have been amazed by Green Zebra Cherry. The plant is just covered with fruit and the taste is outstanding!

I have previously tried Gardener's Delight, Black Cherry (TGS), Riesentraube and Dr. Carolyn; all of which did poorly for me. You say these are really producing great for you guys?, I am surprised based on my trys. Sweet Baby Girl does well for me, but I figure there must be some that do better-production wise.

Black Cherry produced a fair amount the first year I grew it, then I had a few sparse years, and last year it did ok but not great. One of the disadvantages of a darker cherry is that if you're picking at dusk, it's hard to tell what's ripe -- you have to touch each one. Riesentraube (once), Camp Joy/ Chadwick Cherry (2-3 tries), and Cherry Roma (once) didn't produce much. I've tried one or two hybrid reds and found them bland, or rather one-dimensional, compared to the OPs.

My favorite is Tommy Toe, and most years it does very well. I try other reds in alternate years, more or less. This year I planted late and it's been slow getting started but is producing larger-than-usual cherries -- I'm still getting only a dozen or so a week. It's a midseason cherry, not an early cherry. But my plant is huge and loaded with greenies.

I've grown Sun Sugar F1 several times, and it produces so much I give a bunch away. I think I grew Galinas only once, but it produced as much as Sun Sugar. I like them both a lot, but I like to take a break from these overproducers because otherwise I spend all my time picking cherry tomatoes!! I grew Fox Cherry once and it produced a lot -- about as much as Tommy Toe -- and I liked it, but I like Tommy Toe better, and I don't have the space for more than one red cherry.
