I need some tomato help, please
I'm getting ready to put up a thread on the performance of varieties obtained from my Jan seed offer and if they are true to the variety and comments about the varieties, but need to solve a problem first.
There were two varieties that I separated out from the others in my seed offer b'c I had so few seeds and asked that folks who signed up for them should expect to send me back seeds. And I'm asking b'c I cannot find the notebook/page? where I wrote down the names. I just went through all 157 posts in the germination thread and am still short a couple of folks. There should be four for each variety. Pink Currant Cornbreadlouie lurley Jayc ...... who got their seeds from me and Nancyruhl also got seeds from Ted in FL and also offered to send me some seeds. First, I did e-mail Ted with no response yet and could send him a DG mail but all that means is that after three days if he doesn't respond he gets a notice sent to his home via e-mail. So no sense doing the latter. Maybe he's on vacation, I don't know, but PLEASE do NOT share any seeds with anyone but me until I have a final name for the variety. Imay have to name it myself. As for seeds back to me for Pink Currant ( a temp name), if each of you could send me about 100 seeds, those currants have LOTS of seeds that should be enough for me to offer in my next offer here and possibly SSE list although right now I think I'm going to delete almost ALL of my current SSE listings and add back just a couple of varieties, depending on how seed production goes. So who is the 4th person with Pink Currant with seeds from me? Joe's Pink Oxheart PaulF lurley Linda 10 Again, one person is MIA or AWOL, whichever. Neil Lockhart grew this one out last year and said it was one of the best heart varieties he's tasted and Neil has grown thousands of varieties. But seed production for this one was very low, thus my asking for folks to grow it and send me back seeds. With only 3 folks indicating they had this variety if you could send me a bit over 100 seeds each, that would certainly help a lot. Thanks all.

With the heat and drought, Joe's Pink Oxheart is just a little late this year. It is a regular leaf and has several nice sized heart shaped tomatoes but are still green so the flavor or pinkness can't yet be judged. When it ripens the seeds will be saved and sent.

Have plenty of seeds for pink currant. As you said somewhere, currant tomatoes are little seedbags. Will send.

I heard back from Ted today, he didn't e-mail me back but answered at DG where I first met him.
And he was delighted to find that the currants were pink and decided on the name I had suggested to him, which is: Ted's Pink Currant. He seemed especially pleased when I told him in my e-mail that if I had enough seeds I'd also SSE list it and reminded him that I would also offer it in my next seed offer here as well. Nancy, I told him that yours were pink as well and that you were going to send me some seeds also. And I know I'll also send some to the places where I normally send seeds to for trialfornext years grow out. It will be great to get a pink currant out there again, which has been missing for quite awhile/ Those of you listed here in this thread I know will want to save seeds for perhaps your own growouts next year, which is just fine. So I'm still looking for the two AWOL's here.

I've got enough of the pink currant seeds to send, I'm just waiting for a few more Cuore del Dragos to ripen so I can send you some of those as well! Another week or two and I should be able to send them, hopefully.

Joe's Oxheart is a very vigorous plant and is still producing, so I'm waiting to send seeds until all have been processed. Only a few seeds per fruit.
I grew only hearts and dwarfs this year and Joe's Oxheart was the second favorite for taste (after Fish Lake Oxheart) for everyone. It is a beautiful large perfectly shaped heart and I plan to grow it every year. It is a little later than most of the hearts, but is also the only one still producing.

I've got seeds for Ted's pink currant more than covered even though I only have one plant. I don't know if I will have a hundred of the Joe's pink oxheart though. I only had two and they were damaged in our storm the last of june. They don't have very many seeds like lots of hearts, so I just don't think there will be that many but I will send what I have, along with the tadesse seeds too (of which I have plenty also)

Lurley, don't worry about the Joe's Pink Oxheart and I did see the damage to the plants in that June storm that you posted. Do what you can and be sure to save some seeds for yourself if you liked it. And for sure most hearts have very few seeds. Glad to hear you have plenty of the Tadesse Seeds as well. I wish some of the others growing it would speak up in that thread in the Wanted section having to do with Tadesse and Wuhib, but to date, only Neil G ( retiree) did.

I wanted to thank Linda for her Joe's Pink Oxheart seeds that I got in the mail today.
And also ask Paul and Lurley how seed production is going for this variety as well. I haven't received any Ted's Pink Currant seeds so also wondering how seed production is going for: Cornbread Lurley Jay C ...and Nancy whether you planned to send me some as well. Almost forgot but Lurley how about the Joe's pink Oxheart seeds as well, and also the Tadesse seeds, No, I don't need any of these ASAP but I'm just wondering if I will get seeds back since it's never been this late before when I'd know how my great folks who do seed production for me for the majority of what's new each year. And to tell the truth I'm getting a wee bit antsy if that's a legit word. So fingers crossed on all those who helped me with seed production this year but you folks were special b/c I had so few seeds to distribute of both Joe and Ted, if you will.

I'm just waiting on a few more Ted's Pink Currant's in fermenting and once dried they will be on their way to you. A bit delayed but its been a horribly cold wet season here, very slow to get going and ripening is soooo late.
