I wonder how many seeds others sowed since as you know I sent lots of seed for this one and 0/10 really surprises me. You sowed all the seed I probably sent, and thanks for that, but without reading through the whole darn thread I don't know how many seeds others with this experimental one sowed. And it is true that some folks do have better luck is it, or more experience sowing seed. I don't know the answer to that comment , all I know is that the person doing the seed production for Ambrosia also did the seed production for Vince P1 which almost all had good germination results. There's always next year, right?

Don't you want these germination results so you can see if the batch of seed was good, as well as other reasons? I did sow all the seeds you sent per your instructions. Yes there is always next year. I also want to thank you again for doing this generous and monumental task. -Marsha |

I just checked Lee's webpage, J and L seeds, and he's offering seeds for the red and orange and pink Ambrosia ones so I won't be offering the seeds of my Ambrosia seeds for 2013. I just got some feedback from the main person who is doing seed production for me and he's sending me the data hopefully this weekend but said that he got enough seed for most of the ones I sent him, so I probably will do another seed offer here. But as I've said many times now, it's certainly going to be different in many ways from the one I did in January b/c the one in Jan was a disaster from my point of view and that's the first time that's happened and I've been doing large seed offers starting from when I was at the AOL Tomato Forum in the early 90's to then going to GW for many years, then starting here at Tville in I think 2006. So I have had lots of experience doing large seed offers and while I know that others here do as well I also recognize that I'm perhaps the only one, well I did see one other person asking for feedback this year, who really wants public feedback on germination and performance and set up those two threads to get that feedback.

here are results from the very, very, very wet U.P.
medovaya kaplya, kept 4 plants, gave the others away. they did reasonably well looks kinda like yellow pear, but has flavor. seeds are drying. one friends plant was also doing well. fish lake oxheart has only given me a half dozen good sized fruit. good tasting. they are pink however so will not be able to share seeds. rose d' eauze 1 plant has produced just one mega cluster reddish pink fruit. color is a different shade than anna russian. a candidate for ugly tomato contest. 2 smaller fruit i doubt will ripen in time. our summer was hot and dry punctuated by periods of heavy downpours. more rain spread out would have been beneficial. september tends to be the rainy season here. it has rained every day this week, and its not done yet. temps are starting to drop. i haven't set foot in the garden for 4 days due to weather. wet, wet, wet keith |
