Randy, it was a fused misshapen CUT heart, the correct whole heart was to the left of it and the fused cut one did have empty locules.

Not only that but when I saw the picture of the vines I ASAP knew I'd seen that picture before and could say where the person lived and that she was supposed to get back to me with more information about her Portugal one so that I could help her name it, but she never did.

She posted at at a message site I frequent but posted the same at this other message site as well which I didn't know.

Nope, not puffiness, which I know about and what the fruits should like both from the exterior as well as the interior.

I found a 1947, 100th anniversary, edition of a Peter Henderson & Co. seed catalog yesterday. When I did a search on google for Beefheart this thread popped up.

As you can see there was a variety named ‘Beefheart’ at one time but I doubt this is the tomato folks are talking about.

The picture shows a bit of heart shape but the narrative does not mention shape.
