I've only grown Des Andes, seeds came from Kokopelli. Very nice tomato well worth growing. I was surprised how big some of the fruits were, I'd thought they were more Roma size!

Could be, but the red is the original and the yellow probably came about by a mutation of the epidermis from yellow ( red fruited) to clear ( yellow fruited).
Quite a few years ago I was growing the variety Green Gage, which is yellow, and due to a somatic mutation ( mutation in a plant cell,not the seed DNA), one branch had red fruits. With a bit of research I found out that that was already known for that variety and wasn't all that rare, but it's the first somatic mutation I ever saw. So red to yellow and yellow to red. Carolyn
