Ramapo F1 availability 2013

I ordered 5000 seed of Ramapo F1 from Eastern Seed today. From talking to Joe Musumeci, he is getting a very high volume of orders this year and he expects to run out of seed sometime around March. He has more seed in production in Costa Rica and may have it available mid to late march.

Just a heads up if you want seed this year, it would be best to order soon.

Darrel. I just did a Google search to see who might be selling it other than the NJ site and all I see is the NJ site selling the seeds. I don't know if they're still selling Moreton Hybrid, as they were and I didn't go to Harris Seeds to see if they were selling Ramapo F1.

I know that you buy in bulk and I know that Eastern Seed is doing the seed production in Costa Rica.

I also know that the Ramapo F1 that I dehybridized is still around, folks now have to be on the F7 plus, and I know at the F3 there were several who couldn't tell the difference between the OP and the F1.

Barkeater, who posts here, used to grow tomatoes commercially in NJ and he was one of the first ones I sent F2 and F3 seed to and he used to grow the F1 and said he couldn't tell the difference.

And actually I think I still have some old packs of Ramapo F1 and Moreton Hybrid somewhere in the back room, I used to grow the plants for my brother years ago.

Carolyn, who notes that Ramapo F1 had two OP parents so it wasn't that hard to dehybridize.And also notes she grew Ramapo F1 plants for comparison when making selections.
