Default Grafting with superglue

Is there anyone who can report actual success using superglue to hold the graft in place? So far Ive had 100% failure. Even though it appears to be attached succesfully, after a few days the stem near the graft just shrivels up and dies. Is this video a hoax?

I believe the superglue is only supposed to go on the outside of the stem. In any case, Im not going to waste anymore plants with this method unless someone can tell me that it really does work.

BAH! That's not good news. I was planning on test driving that method.
I did not think it was a hoax. It was the same OSU people who had posted several videos, or a t least it appeared to be.
Although I also looked for confirmation of success with the method and hadn't really found any.

I have read confirmatory stories on its use in grafting fruit trees and cacti.

James;
It seems like it works great at first. But within a few days the stem where the superglue is just seems to wither and die.
I just got some sample clips from graftingclips.com today in the mail. Dang these things make this job EASY. I should have waited for them but got impatient and tried the superglue method.

Could there be a chemical in the specific glue you are using that is killing the stem?

Its just plain "Krazy Glue" with the brush. I assumed all the Cyanoacrolate glues were about the same.

I am still going to try it. At least a month out for my timing.
Will post my results.

There are many grades and types of Cyanoacrilate glue(super glue). Just for model airplane use, there are 4 different grades.
