WANTED ! ! !
Once again I get back to my search for the perfect (for me) Tomato. All I can give is a description and leave it up to you to maybe help.
The tomato of my dreams was a rough, lobed, often cat faced, green shouldered, large to very large, Had extra large gel cells. And it was sloppy juicy ! The color ? I have always called it orange, but it was a red orange much like the color above where it says "We Speak Tomato !" But don't let the color throw you ! If you know of a tomato that fits in other ways other than color, Please list it here ! There was nothing mild or watered down about the flavor of this tomato. But I don't want to turn this into a talk about acid etc. Just a good "in your face" Tomato flavor. As always, Thanks in advance for your time. Its easy enough to say but I really mean it. Taking time out of your busy day to help me in my search is an act of kindness and I am truly grateful for any and all help ! |

Maybe Lenny and Gracie's Kentucky Heirloom Red would fit the bill....I think Tania's got seeds for that one.....I haven't tried it yet myself, but it's on my list of possibles to hit the features my stepfather likes.....he wants one that's juicy, too.....I was also looking at Dinner Plate Beefsteak as a possibility.....

You'll get more suggestions with a title such as
"what's your juiciest big ugly in-your-face-flavor tomato?" |

While not green shouldered, probably the juiciest delicious large red I grew last year was Mule Team. Made a mess on a burger lol

I had not heard that Boxcar Willie had any of the above but I'll have a look.
Lakelady, I read a number of opinions on Mule Team. As with anything else the reviews are mixed but good enough that I'm going to try and add maybe 5 plants this year. Thanks for your input ! |

Marla, That is getting close in color ! And a bit green on the shoulder as well. While I don't recall the ribs, Everything else seems pretty close. Worth a try. Thanks for the input !
