Default Need Help identifying lemon yellow cherry type

Hi Everyone:

I grew Katinka in 2010 and one seedling had a different cherry type of fruit.
Please see attached image.

The darker orange tomatoes are Katinka and the lemon yellow one is my mystery variety. Note the 'nipple' on the end of the mystery one.

I have done multiple searches with no luck. The person I received the seeds from is not on-line so I have not inquired by snail mail yet if he recognizes it.

Is it a hybrid or heirloom?

I assume it is an heirloom.

Above is information about Katinka.

I tend to think that the one plant that had yellow fruits with a nipple is the result of a stray seed in the pack that you got. If it were a somatic mutation from Katinka, meaning a mutation in the DNA of the seed, it's possible that there could have been a color and shape change as shown in the picture, and the same with a possible somatic mutation in the DNA of a plant cell, but both would be a bit of a stretch IMO since somatic mutations usually are single mutations that lead to either a color change or a shape change, but usually not both at the same time.

So my best guess is a known variety from a stray seed in the pack.

Thank you Carolyn. Yes, that is what I think as well and why I hope someone might recognize it. All other plants were Katinka.

To me it looks quite a bit like Blondkopfchen (sp?)

That and Riesentraube (also sp?) both have that nipple on the end. But R is red.

I'd say Blondkoepfchen.

Could it be this?

I grew a small yellow tomato that had the nipple on it last year. I looked for empty envelope that they were sold in. I must of thrown it out but I have a full one. I assume that it is the same?? SSE Heritage Plum Lemon Tomato. Fruit is 3" long with pointed end.

Nope, Plum Lemon is too big to be mistaken for a cherry. Looks more like a roma.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I also grew Blondkopfchen last year so it was not that variety either. It had a different plant size plus it did not have the masses of blossoms and fruit that Blondkopfchen has. The fruit were a bit larger as well with most being about 1 1/2 inches long.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have so many varieties that are authentic ones to grow that this one has just been put on the back burner.
