we had great weather here today. 60's. a little breeze with abundant sunshine so i put out all my plants. i have some of the best i have had in years. i wonder what's wrong. i even put out some more garlic bulbs and onion sets.

yup, it was a great day.

Yup! Great day for me too! Got lots of work done outside and at the same time managed to get mint, spearmint, Purslane, Marigold, cilantro, spinach mustard, leaf mustard, Italian large leaf basil, Indian basil, blue spice basil, sweet basil, egg plant, corn salad, and chervil, all planted inside!

Ha, I think it was colder in Central Florida last night and this morning than where you are. However, my carefully covered plants and mildly heated frost-tent over the peppers and paste tomatoes (with a little desk lamp on an extension cord) really seemed to endure it fine. That makes it a good day in my book! That and dinner including home grown salad (greens, toms, radishes) and home made Moroccan-style chili (cinnamon, cumin, ginger, chickpeas, raisins). And a cat snoozing at my side.

My day was also gorgeous! It was almost 60 and sunny. We're expecting a winter storm here on Wednesday with possible snow, and it drizzled all day yesterday and was cool, so today was a nice day. We are in the "roller coaster" part of the year. Today, my 8YO son and I got some beds ready for planting, but of course it's way too early to get any summer crops in. Why is it that nothing that I want to grow will live through winter, but the weeds do? Snap peas, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower and a lot of other favorites will go in soon. Our last frost date is May 20 or so, but I'm ready to grow things!

Not so great today, here in Alberta, Canada anyways.

Mother nature was tantalizing us with +10c weather, hinting that spring was around the corner. Was one of the warmest February's in recent memory...

And then whammo....

Why should the east coast and the mid west have all the fun I guess...(with all the snow and weather they have been enduring over the past month).

So much for March coming in like a lamb.

I had a good day too. Low 70s. I spent the day potting up into larger pots since the same storm that is hitting Robin on Wed will be here Thursday and Friday. Although I wont get snow, I will get low 30s overnight so dont want to have to much planted out. That will hopefully be the last cold snap for me.

Chilly and damp here in NC. We've had lower than normal temps here for a while and it's been kind of hard to get into the swing of things.

The tomato and pepper seedlings are up and growing, but I need to get them repotted and out to the greenhouse so that they will really take off. They just aren't getting the light they need inside.

I haven't even started my basil, which is crazy. Planting time is in about six weeks for tomatoes and such. Some of the cooler weather stuff, like peas, lettuce and onions, should be going in right now!

I don't know how I got so far behind!

What gives. I was in Tennessee over the weekend, and it snowed mightly. Up here in Michigan it was 16 degrees this am.

Livin - Many years ago I had a thearapist tell me "congratulations, you have managed to turn your hobby into a job." At the time I was overwhelmed at trying to finish sewing the girls clothes before leaving on vacation. Today, after a long career in a stressful industry, I find I can still turn almost anything into a time driven task!

Note to self: Don't worry be happy!

It was sunny warm very dry and very windy here. My grafted tomatoes are way to tall in their pots and blew all over the deck. I didn't have time to plant them but hopefully I will have some time tomorrow. I assume Monday mornings frost was the last

Yes, it was a beautiful day here yesterday until evening when it rained and the temperatures dropped once more into the 30s and we are forecast for 3 more nights like that this week and one more on Monday night of next week. I am reluctant to put any tomatoes out yet. I don't want to relive that year we had killing frosts up til mid April so I'm hoping that next Monday night will be the last of the cold nights. I think my plants will be fine til then and then I will be able to set them out without having to worry about covering them.

Ahhh Linda, this is too true! The hobby should remain fun, not stressful!
(I don't have a therapist, but could certainly use one.) I think having ADHD has made me even more panicky about this sort of thing, just because I always feel like I'm ten steps behind, even when I'm not.

Time to put it into perspective. Tomatoes, peppers and basil first, then all of the other stuff will fall into place. (or not) Those are the most important things and if they are a couple of weeks behind "the plan" then it will still be okay.

The attached picture was taken yesterday. On Saturday, four days from the snow, my forecast is sunshine and 60 degrees. It will be about 90 inside the greenhouse.

Just keep reminding yourself, as I do, afterall, we are not building a piano....its a GARDEN!
