Usually the plants are too tall to fit on the table, under the grow lights, since I usually need to stake them with bamboo stakes. When I bring them in after their time outside, I just leave the lights on in the room for the day and turn them off at night. No grow lights.

I have a grow-light setup in the garage-a combination of T12 and T8 6500k
lights. On great days like we've been having in the mid-Atlantic, I'll set my
plants outside to get a gentle breeze/dappled sunlight (sun shinning through
tree branches). If the weather stays decent, I'll gradually subject them to longer hours in stronger sunlight. If I have to bring them inside due to too
harsh weather, I'll start the gradual buildup of exposure all over again.
At this point, outside temperatures are warmer than the garage.

They are still under grow lights early in the morning before going outside and after they're returned to the garage, they'll be under lights until 9 or 10 pm.

A couple of weeks before being transplanted to the garden, I'll generally
leave them out all day/night if the night time temps are in the 50's.
In this area, they're generally planted in the garden May 15th providing
there are no frosts & consistant night time temperatures 50 degrees predicted for the following week. We usually have pretty warm weather during this
period but a late frost scare can also happen-even up to May 21st.
I do pot up into larger, deeper 1G nursery pots. (Plants are started ~3/20)

Mine are started indoors under grow lights but every day over 50 degrees where wind is less than 25 mph they are outdoors. It makes them tougher.

Mine start out in shade for a day or so, then go to early morning sun/cloudy day, then early morning sun sunny day. Then all day sun/cloudy day. Then all day sun(<-watch carefully the first few times for this). You get the idea. The overnight in the coldframe if I can keep temps in it over 45 degrees. They go in the ground when nighttime temps are 50 degrees and soil is at least 55 degrees with no major nasty forecasted for at least 10 days.
