Default More snow!!

Here in minnesota we are use to snow, but not in may! I am sitting on 120 tomato plants and about a 100 pepper plants that are about two weeks away from being ready to set out like most years. The problem is we just got 12 inches of snow!!! I have never seen anything like it. Thunder snow is not my friend! I sit and stare at my plants because if I look out the window I become depressed.

I feel for you. We haven't been hit with late snow but late freezes and two months with temps running 8 to 10 degrees below normal is depressing too.

To all who are getting late starts this year I am hoping for late frosts this fall!

I can't imagine, 12 inches of snow? I wish there was some way to send some of that water over here. I get scared whenever I see a neighbor talking to someone in a well drilling truck.

Oh, I really, really feel for you... I went to college in MN and I love the place, but every year it felt like spring would never arrive. Didn't garden back then, so I can't even imagine that horrible waiting feeling combined with having a bunch of plants yearning to get outside!

same boat here.

we didn't get 12 inches, but we got some thursday and friday. we still have 2 ft of snow on the ground in spots. can't plant the fruit trees or blueberries i picked up yesterday, from the conservation district. had to bury them in a snow bank. brambles and asparagus are coming soon too. tomatoes and peppers never go out till june here due to weather and temperature. the frustrating part is i can't do any ground prepping on account of the snow. its all hurry up and wait. not much you can do about the situation so don't stay too depressed about it. i have my moments, but i try to limit it otherwise i would be depressed for a long time. say, the snow will melt, and summer will come. repeat as often as necessary.

hang in there

Our area missed the snow accumulations but we had frozen rain this morning. Grrr.

Hope we get consistent Spring weather soon!
