Last Cold Front of the Season
Over the next couple of days, a mass of cold air will cover the Upper Midwest to the mid-Atlantic and New England coasts during the next couple of days, bringing a frost and freeze to some locations. If you have plants in the ground or plants in containers, be sure to take precautions to protect your plants. I'm expecting mid twenties on Monday night here. I've been preparing by collecting up old sheets and materials to cover any outside plants. I've got two large covers for my lilac bushes. I'll fire up the heaters for the tunnels, hopefully for the last time this year. So, I hope everyone takes the proper steps to protect their plants because I hate to read stories about someone losing all their plants due to cold temps and frost.

Good warning. Expecting 40 tomorrow night down here. A far cry better than 20s.

It was zero this morning 12 May in my Zone 5 in Brantford,ON. I saw some white frost on a few roofs. I moved all my plants, which were being conditioned outside, back into the greenhouse yesterday morning. There is a cool wind.It is noon now and still only about 10C. It wont really warm up until about the 15 of May.

I started hardening off my toms only to bring them in on Sunday because it got so cold in Montreal. So they're back inside for at least another week. Between the wind and cold they weren't looking too happy.
