The blossom end Rot may have more to do with a calcium deficiency that the soild you are using. Buy some lyme and place it around the plans

I am absolutely sure its the watering . I always add lime to my containers to avoid BER. But my problem is not really BER. I just want a good well drained potting mix to use the bottomless 5 gal bucket to place on a raised bed. I never cared to grow tomatoes in 5 gal buckets which is why i want to try something else with the 5 gal containers i do have.

As you can see from my picture i have been adding little bottomless 1/2 gal pots to my plants. That's where it came to me to use 5 gal buckets for raised bed tomatoes. If i can get more production due to the extra 5 gals of potting mix.. hey why not try it.
