Help! Grasshoppers
Hello, I'm having an epic infestation of grasshoppers and other hoppers that have recently come through and destroyed all of my bush beans, watermelon plants, and bell pepper plants in a matter of a week.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good insecticide that can be sprayed on vegetable plants(or granular)? It doesn't have to be organic, since I've heard it doesn't always work too well with issues like this. I'm living in Texas and this plague is yearly, but this is the first year I've done any gardening, and now can appreciate the fight farmers/gardeners have to go through! I know it's not exactly tomato-related, but I figured you all would probably still be growing other things besides like me, and may have some insight. Thanks for any advice! |

Bonide makes a product called Eight insect control. I know you can use it on watermelons and peppers. Cut off is up to day of harvest for the melons and three days for peppers. It's permethrin based so you need to be aware it will kill the good bugs too.
