Default Re: Which is #1?

Brandywine Sudduth if the crystal ball indicated it would be a good tomato year and Cherokee Purple if it was to be a so-so year for tomatos.

I agree with Mantis that in a good year, Brandy wine Sudduth is abnormally good. It is the one tomato that friends have said 'OMG, this is the best tasting tomato I have ever eaten!' to. It has to be a good year though.

Cherokee Purple is more consistent in how it produces and what it tastes like for me though.

Neve's Azorean would be another possibility.

Sorry, I gave more than 1 variety

Everybodies commets are good.

In my limited experience, I would say that Brandywine (uknown strain) is the best I have grown. I was lucky enoughto have several in the last 4 weeks on a hold over plant from spring. I will start seeds from brandywine suddith, BW seed saved from last summer, cherokee purple, Brads black heart, grubbs mystery green, and a wonderfulItalian heirloom I came across. All of these will be new varieties for me exept the saved seed of course. Next year I will have a little more experience in different varieties. CHEERS.

Vince.
