Our 1st year with Florida weave & fish emulsion

As the title says, 2013 was our first year using the Florida weave method of tying up plants AND using whole fish emulsion (besides organic chicken poo). I thought I'd share some pics of some of my green fruits, many of which are bigger in the green stage than what the mature fruits were indicated to be! For two years I tried to grow Jersey Giant, a bull horn shaped red paste tomato. First year I got several kinds of tomatoes out of that packet of seeds, EXCEPT a Jersey Giant. But one was a large, pink beefsteak and VERY GOOD! The next year I found Jersey Giant started plants. Bought 5. They were all the same, large pink beefsteak instead of true Jersey Giant. I saved seeds from them, altho I have no idea what they are. I have a pic of them here next to a quart jar of 'maters to show their size. They average 1 pound 4 oz, and I mean near all of them are 1 pound 4 oz of them and those plants produce a TON of them! Nearly blemish free, perfectly pink beefsteak MEATY tomatoes! Very few seeds. So, I added a pic. I DO have a pic of Stripped Roman tho, I did grow that last year and they were very good and got much bigger than the description states. The only 'mater that did NOT grow per description was Amazon Chocolate. Some were regular leaf, some were potato leaf. Most were in the 6 oz size range. Some were small and 3 lobed fruit, resembling a clover leaf. I got the seed from Baker Creek, and they are not offering them this year 2014. I saw reviews from other suppliers and others saw the same irregularities, so wonder if that is why Baker Creek pulled them from their list available.

What brand of fish emulsion are you using, Neptune's Harvest? How do you apply it to the plants? Does it really not stink? I use Alaskan Fish for seedlings and the smell is horrible.

No, not Neptune's Harvest. I get it from Schafer Fishery near Thompson IL right on the Mississippi river. I don't live far from there. It's made fresh and I pick it up in 5 gallon pails. Yes, it stinks! But it breaks down fast and it doesn't smell up the yard or anything. I just mix it with water per directions and then water the plants with it. Mix it in 5 gallon pails and set in my wagon and pull down the rows. Might take me a few days, but gets the job done. Since they use the entire fish, it's very rich in calcium, so I have NO problems with blossom end rot, so I don't use any lime and mess with my soil's PH.
