Castle Rock tomato
Hi,
As a gift from a webshop, I got the castle Rock tomato. I know it's some kind of heirloom, excellent for canning. Does anyone has some more info? Itoero |

The tomato is excellent for canning...does that say anything about the flavor?

Not really. Probably it says more about the density (less gel & seeds?). You might expect canners to have "higher acid," but that doesn't mean they're more tart. I've grown Bonny Best, which is described as a canning tomato, and iirc (it was some years ago) it had a pleasant balanced flavor.
