I purchased a couple of 6 paks of celebrity last year for grafting. 3 or 4 made it into the garden as rootstock.
I did not notice any difference in performance compared to ungrafted. As I recall, it was not overly vegetative. I did not have soil disease issues last year. Rick |

I have not actually tried Celebrity or Bella Rosa for rootstock but have grown them both. I have heard that Celebrity is frequently used as a rootstock. My only concern when grafting is preventing soil borne diseases so I opt for more resistant rootstock. If you are hoping to increase vigor or size of your plants I don't think either of those would do much.

I tried Celebrity last year as a rootstock for a couple plants and I wasn't very impressed. I am trying Big Beef this year, I think it should do better since it is a much more productive variety.

I used celebrity as rootstock last year and it worked very well. I found it to be quite disease resistant, though I suppose other rootstocks might have been more vigorous. I had Opalka and Brandywine grafted to it.

I wonder if it makes a difference if you are using determinate rootstock or indeterminate rootstock
