Odd looking plant.
Out of my 300+ tomato plants I have one oddball. In fact as we were weeding today my son almost cut it off thinking it was a weed. It's one that lost it's label in the greenhouse collapse so I have no idea what it is. The leaves are clustered in threes and are oval shaped. They look nothing like any of my other potato leaved varieties. Do any of you recognize the odd foliage on this one?

I've never grown tomatillos so I can't say if it looks like one. I didn't order any tomatillo seeds so it would be interesting to have gotten one in the seeds I did order.

There used to be a great German site where 5 different types of potato leaves were shown and named. My link is no longer active and I justGoogled to see if I could find it again and no luck.
But what you do show are leaves with smooth edges but more elliptical, I would say than most PL's I'vegrown. I've seen, the mitten shaped one and is not a rarity, and so I guess what I'm saying is that it could well be PL. What is the name of the variety, that might help, and where did you get the seeds, that might also help, and how many plants of it are you growing? Carolyn

I had a volunteer pop up in my backyard that looks exactly like your plant. I have no idea what it is because before this year i have never grown plants in the ground. It now has a tomato on it so the wait is on.

And it's always possible that it came from a low flying bird b'c they are notorious for spreading seeds around, all kinds of seeds. Time will tell, as is oft said, what that one plant will grow up to be and then you can see what kind of fruits it has. Carolyn

I'm pretty sure it's a tomato or at least it looks and smells like one other than the leafs being odd. It's not a volunteer I started the seed and repotted it twice before planting it in the garden.

Do you recall what Wild Boar Farms varieties you had? I planted 15 or so different ones (multiples of each) from Brad and I do remember seeing a few seedlings show up like that. They too have since been transplanted and are doing just fine. I'll try to see if I can figure out which ones they were.

I planted, Dark Galaxy, Kaleidoscopic Jewel, Dragon's Eye, Solar Flare, Sweet Carneros Pink, Berkely Tye Dye, Large Barred Boar, Black and Brown Boar and Cascade Lava. I also have some Beauty King plants but I got those seeds from Remy.
