Agree about the tough skins on JF - I thought I was at fault, but if others have reportd the same, then maybe it's not just underwatering and hot weather.
If Green Zebra tastes so bland, never mind if it ever reaches maturity - no, I'm really curious now! It's growing at my parents' in a shaded location, so we'll see what happens. It already has visible stripes, so ... |

GZ always did really well in my garden, and tasted delicious, plenty of sweetness, along with the acid. Really productive too. The key, I think,is to wait until it gets soft to the touch and some of the stripes yellow. Yellowing happens but sometimes it doesn't get soft. That is usually only the last few, when whiteflies have gotten to them and the virus keeps them from ever ripening.(TYLCV)
I never got BER with it, but have from other varieties. |

http://t.tatianastomatobase.com:88/w...b=General_Info Manfred is a good friend of Reinhard Kraft's in Germany and Manfred has a huge list of varieties he sells seed for at Reinhard's website. So Reinhard traced them back to the Netherlands and nothing more. My original GZ Cherry seedsI got from Reinhard and offered them here in several seed offers and also sent them to several seed sites for trial. ARRGGHH! I just looked in my 2014 SSE Yearbook and there are a couple of folks who say that Reinhard developed GZ Cherry, NOT! Hope that helps. Carolyn
