Know this one?
I recently purchased a packet of seed here in Australia for a variety with the name of "Donella's Superb'. These tomatoes also get a wrap by a seller on eBay who claims they are a rare variety and will grow to 8" in length and weigh over 1kg (2.2lb). I actually purchased mine through a seed company.
What I'd like to know is if this tomato is known under another name. Does anyone know it |

Maybe it helps
http://www.amishlandseeds.com/tomatoes_cooking.htm COLONEL DONELLA'S SUPERB PASTE TOMATO ~ This is the actual name of this tomato and it is so true. This elongated paste cooking tomato hails from Australia. I really don't have much more information than that. I am assuming it came originally via Italy because of the surname. Also it is the classic Italian paste tomato shape. I got my original seeds from a friend. Great firm fruits that grew in clusters that looked like red bananas. This pretty tomato just kept pumping out out all season long. Great sweet, rich flavor. Thick flesh and thin skins make this is a new winner for your cooking and sauce needs. |
