Leaves growing on the end of fruit trusses

Last year I grew 9 varieties of cherry tomatoes and two had me a little confused. Is it typical for some plants to grow leafy branches on the end of fruit trusses? My yellow pears and peacevines both did so and it made them very hard to keep pruned up like I did with my more convention indeterminates...snapping off all the suckers.

I am not growing either of them in the future, but if I get other varieties that do the same thing, is it bad to just clip off these leaf nodes on the end of the fruit trusses? If it is appropriate, shoud I do so right away or should I wait until the fruit on the truss ripens? My thought is that leaving the leaves there will help draw more juice up past the ripening fruit.

I had that on an Indigo Apple tomato plant last year. Don't know how common it is but remember reading a thread about it here; it happens.

I have noticed this many times. I do snip them off. My mentality is that what ever energy that the plant is sending will end in the tomatoes not new foliage.
