Pink Boar
Has anyone grown this? I've purchased the seeds and like additional info than just the blurb on the website.
Thanks Saint

Saint, I haven't seen anyone answer yet and no, I haven't grown any of Brads varieties, but there is an entry in the 2007 Yearbook for Pink Fuzzy Boar, grown by Bill Minkey and obtained from Brad.
Bill says 80 days, indet, RL,6-8 oz pink fuzzy fruits with pink lines, very thin skin, very good flavor. So if Pink Fuzzy Boar is what you have, that's what Bill says. His very good flavor is not up high on his list of adjectives, that I can tell you from knowing Bill all these years. And he's grown and now has listed many of Brad's varieties. Since taste is perceptual you'll just have to see how the taste is to you as grown under your conditions. Bill called me on Monday and we had a tomato feast talk session and he we shared all sorts of tomato stuff. And then Neil Lockhart called me yesterday and we had a similar great long talk re tomatoes. Oh how I miss being able to grow as many varieties as I wanted to in any given season.

Thanks for the welcome RIK
Carolyn thanks for the info, lol I guess I should have just got it the other day instead of wasting my first foray on a pig LOL. If ya didn't like in the great white north I'd say I'd move closer so I could give ya a hand to plant but burrrrr just way to cold for me!

Pink Boar and Pink Fuzzy Boar are two different varieties.
The Pink Fuzzy Boar does have good flavor and is very unique and pretty. Pink Boar gets raves from my fresh tomato customers, and thats what I go by since I deal with lots of people from many geographic locations and backgrounds. I will bet that production, flavor and looks will excede your expectations so plant those seeds and please report back. (Brad who just got his computer going after almost a week and is very proud of Pink Boar ) |

Brad, thanks for chiming in and pointing out that there are two different varieties to distinguish between.
I myself had not realized there was a Pink Boar and a Fuzzy one so when I saw Pink Boar listed in the SSE YEarbook I thought perhaps that Saint had left out the word Fuzzy. BTW, Saint is sending me a few seeds of your Black Heart since I've not grown any of your varieties at all and would like to try at least one for myself and I'd love to give my orthopedic surgeon some Black Heart fruits as well.

Brad how do you think they will hold up growing them in a high heat/humidity area? I'll hold off till Fall to try them but I will let you know how they do. And thanks for adding them in as a bonus...
Saint
