They are beautiful tomatoes!!!!
But are they hearts? What struck me in looking at them, Marsha, is that the tomatoes that produced the Indian Stripe Heart? seeds I sent you in 2014 -- and even more the plants I grew from that seed in 2014 -- had many fruit that looked at least that "hearty" . . . or a little more so . . . but seemed to me to be at best very marginally blunt heart shaped. (Though the plants were good producers of tasty Indian Stripe fruit -- whatever their shape.) So it was interesting to see these identified as hearts, suggesting that they may fall within expectations for blunt heart shape. But Tatiana's pictures for this variety show much more clearly heart shaped fruit. http://t.tatianastomatobase.com:88/w...mire%27s_Pride How were your Grightmire's Pride shaped, Marsha? |

If you scroll down to look at all of Tatiana's pictures there's at least one fruit (and I think another picture of one sliced) that would correspond to what my picture looks like. I think the shape is what is called a 'doubled' heart.
I was losing fruit to late blight, so I can't say whether all mine were doubled hearts or just a few. Chris Quote:

Hows the flavour? I would call those doubled hearts as well but there should be regular hearts on the plant too?

I also grew 3 GP last season. I didn't harvest many due to stinkbug damage(something I wasn't prepared for)and I started them late, so not a good season. Most were hearts but I had a few doubles and none were as large as I have grown in previous years. The few I harvested were still tasty and I will grow them again.
Those are beautiful, Crmauch! |

I agree - it is a wonderful tomato. Mine were heart-shaped.
