Do you know what is eating my leaves? Can I put this in the ground now?

Oh my goodness! Hornworms?

I hope you find the culprit!

It appears that you have a "Hornworm". I marked its location on the modified picture below. First thing to do is find and remove/dispose of the hornworm. Then place those damaged plants in a place and see if they will regenerate foliage. If there is enough stored energy left in the root systems, they will begin to regrow.

Those hornworms pop right open if you drag a sharp knife edge over them. Its kinda satisfying in a perverse kind of way.

The Bamboo skewers work good too.
You can impale the slugs snails bugs and horn worms on them and stick them up in the garden as a warning to the rest of the hoard.

Bluee, if those do not revive for you and you are in the Southbay area, PM me and I have plenty of extra seedlings if you want. My toms have been planted back in March and I do think you need to hurry up and plant soon.
I have Sungold, Margaret Curtain, Talavera Native, Blush, Copper River and Mystery Blue off the top of my head. My workplace is right off the 91 fwy towards the end as you head west.

thanks so much for your offer! I appreciate you thinking of me , I was in the Brea area today picking up a dryer. I think Brea and Anaheim are nearby. I think these will be okay. I do have some other tomato seedlings planted.

I think it was so awesome of you to offer some of your tomatoes. Have a great night

My workplace is actually in Carson, closer to the beach cities. Okay then, but my offer still stands if you or anyone else wants any, ok?
I'm tired of trying to find new places to plant my overages--today I dug out a HUGE aloe plant in order to make room for 2 more plants, and also decided to use 2 big pots that I will have to put somewhere for 2 more. And I still have more!

Sorry to see your seedlings munched and crunched Bluee. Given a bit of time, they should recover. Ahh the challenges we face against mother nature as gardeners.

p.s. (Love your tomato pillow. : ) Would love to know where you got it. )

Hi peebee, how are your plants doing? Did you ever find new homes? You have a great RED THUMB for tomatoes. Hope you are doing well!
